Organizations Filed Purposes: YWCA Richmond is an organization for women united by a passion for social change, equality and economic empowerment. The Organization offers women of all ages leadership opportunities, shelter for safety, programs focused on racial justice, financial and emotional self-sufficiency, and high quality, affordable pre-school education for all families in the Greater Richmond Region. The mission is to eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. As a solution-focused, trauma-informed agency, YWCA strives to increase community access to domestic and sexual violence prevention and intervention programs, champion causes that advance racial equity, increase women's ability to achieve self-efficacy, and expand services in early childhood programming that enhance family sustainability and stability.

Developmental Support of Women/Families

In the fiscal year ending June 30, 2020, we provided the following services to sexual and domestic violence survivors:- 2,420 crisis calls- 100 adults and children established new, violence-free homes- 2,395 hospital accompaniment hours provided to survivors- 604 survivors were assisted with legal advocacy- 113 survivors participated in workforce development initiative

In the fiscal year ended June, 30, 2020, we provided the following services to low-income children, ages 1 1/2-5, and their families:-95% of children able to write their first name-100% of eligible 4 and 5 year olds successfully transitioned to kindergarten-100% of children increased knowledge in social science and science-95 % of parents reported having a good relationship with their child's teacher and other staff
