Organizations Filed Purposes:
The Organization promotes the unity of all Veterans Affairs Local unions in the American Federation of Government Employees AFGE, supports Locals when requested, facilitates delivery of services at the National level, negotiates labor terms and performs other services as the primary representative for Veterans Affairs employees.
SUPPORT THOSE WHO TAKE CARE OF VETERANS BY BUILDING POWER THROUGH ORGANIZING, REPRESENTATION, AND POLITICAL ACTION
REPRESENTATIONAL ACTIVITIES - Provide arbitration, bargaining, contract enforcement and organizing support to increase and maintain the more than 125,000 individual members of the approximately 200 affiliated local unions.
LOBBYING LEGISLATION - Build a grassroots movement of members and allies to support and advocate policies friendly to the National Veterans Affairs Council, AFGE, and VA employees within the approximately 200 affiliated local unions representing more than 125,000 individual members.
UNION ADMINISTRATION - Effectively educate and train union leaders and members on issues that affect their employment by providing classes and seminars. Provide useful and timely information and consultation to local unions regarding local meetings, elections, disciplinary proceedings, and other matters.
