Organizations Filed Purposes:
Preschool program for children at risk of abuse and/or neglect transportation
Provides Preschool child care to children in the nearby area and provides the Richmond County public school Pre-kindergarten program which is funded by the Va. Dept of Education with a local match from the county. Six preschool children were provided for by a grant from the Jesse Ball duPont fund. Some childrens tuition is paid by the Dept. of Social Services and others are paid by the parents. This program requires four teachers and five assistants, as well as a good portion of the Director and Assistant Directors time. Approximately 90 of fundraising and contributions go to this program. The program requires approximately 85 of all other expenses.
Meals Program USDA full course, fully cooked meals for breakfast and lunch are provided to all enrolled children and an afternoon snack is also served. A full time cook is employed to prepare these meals daily. The USDA reimburses, through grant monies, for the meals and Head Start reimburses for meals.
