Organizations Filed Purposes:
Promote public awareness of and visitation to Civil War sites in Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Tennessee.
Historical Marker Cost and Installation: Civil War Trails, Inc., designed, fabricated, installed, and/or delivered approximately 16 complete new sign packages and/or individual panels, or parts. Each sign package includes the aluminum, dual leg pedestal and the 24x36 interpretive panel. The signs describe the history of that specific location for travelers of all ages and interest levels.
Historical Marker Maintenance: Civil War Trails, Inc. is constantly working to ensure an accessible, accurate, and well-maintained signage system for travelers. As part of this effort, approximately one hundred interpretive sign packages received repairs, replacement parts, repainting and/or updated content. Each Civil War Trails site is also supported by a system of directional signs which also received repairs or updates as requested.
Map-Guide Reprinting: As part of the Corporation's ongoing efforts to market Civil War Trails sites several map-guides were updated in support of reprinting efforts. The majority of the work was focused on the pieces for Maryland. This process includes edits and adjustments to the wayfinding and narrative portions of the brochures. Updates to the Civil War Trails, Inc. website and 'interactive map' was also completed as part of this process.
