Organizations Filed Purposes: The Cherry Crest Elementary PTSA funds three major and a number of minor services for the school. The three major programs are instructional aides, curriculum enhancement programs, and staff allowances.The largest program service expense is for instructional aides. We donate funds to support roughly 3.5 additional Staff aides to be used as the school deems best.Typically, these are used to provide classroom and recess support.The secound largest expense is the curriculum enhancement program.All the classes received approximately 4 programs that were are teacher directed. curriculum-specific. Programs range from small in-class activities (e.g., making lip balm, tie-dying t-shirts, etc.) to larger off-site field trips (e.g.,). The PTSA also funds an annual author visit at Cherry Crest.The staff allowance program provides funds for staff use towards classroom supplies, classroom literature, and games/materials which complement the curriculum, as well as funds for staff development.The remaining program services are for family-oriented, community building events (Family Nights), a Festival of Cultures to enable kids and families the chance to learn about the diverse backgrounds of our community, an annual talent/variety show, communication in the form of a directory, website, and weekly newsletter, support for the fifth grade fundraising and graduation efforts, a donation to Bellevue School Foundation (a local Foundation that supports all Bellevue School District kids of all ages), donations to local families in need, and a start-up PTA in the area.
