Emergency Womens Shelter (EWS): In 2019, The Sophia Way operated an Emergency Shelter for women providing an immediate, low-barrier, emergency shelter from 8:30pm to 7:30am every night during the shelter operational season, from January to May and again September to December. Emergency Shelter services include a hot dinner, breakfast, floor mats and blankets for sleeping. During 2019, we served 253 unduplicated women with 8,013 bednights.
Sophias Place (SP): Sophia's Place is an extended-stay shelter for women experiencing homelessness on the eastside of King County, WA. Open from 7pm to 7am every night of the year, the shelter provides a safe place to stay for 21 women who stay up to six months, in semi-private cubicles, locking closets for personal belongings, life skills classes and case management. In 2019, Sophia's Place served 66 clients with 75% moving into transitional or permanent housing. Sophias Place provided a total of 7,605 bed nights in 2019.
