Organizations Filed Purposes:
SUDDEN IMPACT'S VOLLEYBALL CLUB'S MISSION IS TO PROVIDE THE BEST TRAINING FOR FEMALE STUDENT VOLLEYBALL PLAYERS IN THE PUGET SOUND REGION, WA. IT BELIEVES A COMPETITIVE ATHLETIC EXPERIENCE WILL ENHANCE SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT, CONTRIBUTE TO MENTAL AND PHYSICAL HEALTH, AND TEACH THE VALUES OF TEAMWORK, RESPONSIBILITY, SELF-DISCIPLINE, AND SELF-MOTIVATION. IT STRIVES TO TAKE EACH PLAYER TO A HIGHER LEVEL OF COMPETITIVENESS WHILE MAINTAINING HER LOVE FOR THE GAME.
OFFERED 12 FEMALE STUDENT TEAMS MADE UP OF 145 PLAYERS AND GAVE THEM THE OPPORTUNITY TO TRAIN AND COMPETE AT THE HIGHEST LEVELS OF JUNIOR CLUB VOLLEYBALL. FOUR OF THE TEAMS QUALIFIED FOR THE 2019 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP IN INDIANAPOLIS, WHICH WAS THE MOST OF ANY TEAM IN THE PUGET SOUND REGION. EACH TEAM STARTED PRACTICING IN DECEMBER AND BEGAN THEIR TOURNAMENT PLAYING SCHEDULE IN JANUARY. TEAMS PRACTICED 2 TIMES A WEEK ON AVERAGE AND COMPETED IN WEEKEND TOURNAMENTS A MINIMUM OF TWICE PER MONTH FOR EITHER 5 OR 6 MONTHS DEPENDING ON THEIR AGE.
FOR THE EIGHTH STRAIGHT YEAR IN A ROW, WE MAINTAINED OUR SUMMER CAMPS AND CLINIC OFFERINGS. DURING THE SUMMER WE HAD OVER 740 STUDENT REGISTRATIONS FOR THE SUMMER CAMPS AND/OR CLINIC LESSONS. ALSO FOR THE EIGHTH STRAIGHT YEAR WE EXPANDED THE NUMBER OF PRIVATE LESSONS BEING OFFERED TO PUGET SOUND REGION BASED PLAYERS.
HELD 4TH ANNUAL "KRISTY TRIPLES" TOURNAMENT IN HONOR OF FORMER PLAYER KRISTY LEMOND. AWARDED THE ONE GRANT TO CURRENT PLAYERS IN THE CLUB FOR SERVICE RELATED PROJECTS.
