Organizations Filed Purposes: The mission is to promote and inspire youth to lead safe, healthy, and successful lives. This is accomplished through programs that open the door for healthy youth, supported families, and an engaged community.

The growing Youth Success! Mentoring (YSM) program currently reaches 35 students and 34 mentors. Schools were grateful for the YSM Program, as they observed students thriving by connection with volunteer mentors, improving other relationships, connections, and academics.

The Youth Substance Abuse program addresses risk and supports protective factors to help kids grow up safe and healthy. This work is achieved through supporting healthy family management through high-quality parent education opportunities. Additionally, youth's mis-perceptions of use among peers is corrected through the ongoing positive messaging campaign. When youth understand that MOST peers do not use drugs/alcohol, then they are less likely to do so.

Communities of Opportunity (COO) is King County initiative based in the belief that every community can be a healthy, thriving community and that equity and racial justice are both necessary and achievableCommunities of Opportunity is a key pillar of Best Starts for Kids as children, youth and families can thrive when their communities are healthy and when our policies and systems support community priorities. Communities of Opportunity is setting a course for positive change throughout the region by addressing racial equity, tapping into existing community expertise and leadership, and strengthening community capacity to take on local challenges and bringing new resources into communities.
