GEO Africa-Ethiopia, TanzaniaIn Africa we have visited a number of countries and applied our services to humanitarian surgical services, education in the operating theater, and the training of doctors in temporal bone lab settings. Africa is understaffed in the number of physicians and the shortage has lead to a largely under served population. In Ethiopia we participate with a group of doctors at a rural hospital and perform ear surgery while training the doctors. In Cambodia we participated in the development of a temporal bone lab that trains doctors in a country, that because of political violence, lost 90% of their professional class. This program is the most comprehensive and organized of all of our programs. In Italy we continue to work through our board members in both countries and support African education and this coming year we will be going to Iraq as well. We also participate in educational programs in Italy, where we lecture and participate in education programs in temporal bone surgery.

Latin America-Peru, Cuba, Bolivia, ParaguayThe Latin America Programs are based on the model of education and as well services to the under served. Peru is the largest program wherein, we train doctors how to perform surgery on the ear in the laboratory on cadaver ear bones. As well we perform surgery and in the Hospital dos De Mayo in central Lima. This year we are giving our 20th course in Peru. Bolivia is a humanitarian program were we assist the community at the Foundation Totai in the Jungle region of Bolivia and as well in the city of La Paz. In Paraguay we are now giving our 6th temporal bone course and we help to train doctors at the Hospital Clinical in Asuncion. All GEO programs are designed to educate and create sustainable programs with the doctors in the communities we work in
