Organizations Filed Purposes: THE FLYING HERITAGE AND COMBAT ARMOR MUSEUM IS THE PREMIERE MUSEUM OF OPERATING VINTAGE MILITARY TECHNOLOGY THAT PROVIDES UNIQUE SENSORY EXPERIENCES TO INSPIRE AND EDUCATE DIVERSE AUDIENCES ABOUT TECHNOLOGY AND HISTORY THROUGH EXPOSURE TO FLYING AND FIRING ICONIC ARTIFACTS AND SUPPORTIVE EXHIBITS.

OPERATION OF VINTAGE MILITARY TECHNOLOGY MUSEUM.

FHCAM PROVIDES EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING ASSOCIATED WITH THE VINTAGE AIRCRAFT. THIS INCLUDES TOURS BY DOCENTS WHO RECEIVE TRAINING IN THE HISTORICAL, SOCIETAL, TECHNOLOGICAL AND SCIENTIFIC CONTEXT OF THE COLLECTION. IN 2019, 54,532 PEOPLE VISITED THE MUSEUM, AND AN ESTIMATED 5,985 GUESTS TOOK A DOCENT-LED TOUR. IN ADDITION TO REGULAR MUSEUM ATTENDANCE, FHCAM HOLDS SUMMER CAMPS AND FIELD TRIPS FOR SCHOOL-AGE CHILDREN. IN 2019, 25 FIELD TRIPS CAME THROUGH THE MUSEUM INCLUDING 679 STUDENTS, 8 TEACHERS, AND 107 CHAPERONES. TWO FOUR-DAY SUMMER CAMPS WERE HELD, AND 32 CAMPERS ATTENDED. ON THE SECOND THURSDAY OF EACH MONTH, WE HOST A SERIES OF EDUCATION EVENTS FOCUSED ON SPECIFIC ARTIFACTS. THESE PROGRAMS HIGHLIGHT THE WORKING ARTIFACTS OF THE MUSEUM AND ENGAGE LOCAL EXPERTS TO INSPIRE AND EDUCATE AUDIENCES. IN 2019, 602 GUESTS ATTENDED THURSDAY EDUCATION TALKS. ON SUMMER SATURDAYS, GUESTS CAN HEAR A DOCENT TALK FOR AN ADDITIONAL $5-$10. IN 2019, SUMMER SATURDAYS PROGRAM BROUGHT IN 272 GUESTS. DURING OUR WINTER SERIES, GUESTS RECEIVE AN UP-CLOSE EXPERIENCE INCLUDING SEEING AN ARTIFACT OPERATE OR GETTING INSIDE AN ARTIFACT. IN 2019, THE WINTER SERIES BROUGHT IN 812 GUESTS. ORAL HISTORIES ASSOCIATED WITH THE AIRCRAFT AND ARTIFACTS ARE TAKEN SEVERAL TIMES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, WHICH CONSTITUTE AN IMPORTANT PART OF THE EXHIBIT EXPERIENCE THROUGH THE DOCUMENTARY KIOSKS. IN 2019, THE FOLLOWING MOVIES WERE SHOWN IN THE THEATER: BATTLE OF BRITAIN, BATTLE OF KURSH, BATTLE OF THE PHILLIPPINE SEA, D-DAY, AND NAZI MEGA WEAPONS V2 ROCKET.

FHCAM HOSTS YEAR-ROUND EVENTS TO FACILITATE THE PRESENTATION OF THE AIRCRAFT AND ARTIFACTS OF THE COLLECTION TO THE PUBLIC. EACH OF OUR FLYING EVENTS HAS AN EDUCATIONAL COMPONENT WHERE GUEST SPEAKERS COME IN TO TALK ABOUT SELECT ARTIFACTS. IN 2019, FHCAM HOSTED SEVERAL EVENTS INCLUDING TANKFEST NW, THREE FLYING EVENTS, MONSTER BASH, TANKSGIVING, AND TANKTOBERFEST.

FHCAM RESTORES PLANES IN FRONT OF MUSEUM ATTENDEES. THESE PLANES ARE ON DISPLAY AT THE MUSEUM DURING AND AFTER RESTORATION.
