Organizations Filed Purposes:
Hands for Peacemaking Foundation's mission is to assist people living in extreme poverty in the NW Highland area of rural Guatemala to become self-sufficient. This is accomplished through training in agriculture, establishment or improvement of water supply, sanitation, cooking methods and building schools for the youth.
Four volunteer groups with 50 team members from North America traveled to Guatemala to assist villagers in 5 villages, installed 416 highly efficient Aler Stoves for cooking and heating, built a latrine and shower room, built a one classroom school in one village, ffive water systems in three villages consisting of two 2500 liter water tanks per system with catchment and filter systems.
Provide 100 student desks with chair, 3 teacher desks with chair, and five whiteboards for each classroom in the three classrooms. Distribute teaching and school supplies to various villages with schools.
