TO ASSIST FAITHFUL PARENTS IN THE EDUCATION OF THEIR CHILDREN FROM A BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW USING CLASSICAL METHODS OF TEACHING...ALL TO THE GLORY OF GOD.
We continued to build our house system, electives offerings, and our "Dad's on Campus Program." At the beginning of 2018-2019 year we rolled out a new school management software, Grade link, to systematize our records keeping, grading, and communication. After receiving a significant donation, we established our first formal scholarship program for science and math achievement. The new headmaster left his mark by designing a new morning liturgy, teaching three classes, and establishing relationships with other local classical schools. This included all Summit staff attending the Northwest ACCS teacher training, and a cohort of teachers visiting Logos Teacher training in Moscow, ID. Summit Classical Christian School began the 2019 - 2020 school year with Joshua White entering his 2nd year as our Headmaster. Mr White informed us of his desires to move to South Dakota early in the school year (which kicked off a search for a replacement). This culminated in us finding and hiring Terry Meyer in June 2020. As with all schools, Summit was impacted by Covid-19 in the Spring of 2020. We had to quickly pivot our in-person learning model and start an effective remote school program. Our staff and students adapted well to virtual learning (shifting everything over a weekend), and the school invested in new laptops and software tools (like Zoom, Slack, and Google Classrooms) to accommodate the abrupt changes. We ended the school year by increasing enrollment significantly and hiring five new full time teachers.
