The 2-day effort of some 450 volunteers culminated in delivery of 1,456 Thanksgiving meal baskets to local families in need. Through the Envirocorps program (now in its 11th year) the Foundation is dedicated to developing and fulfilling opportunities across our community to help maintain parks, trails, roads, and other public lands - keeping them safe, pleasant, and litter free. Adopt-A-Road and Trail Sponsorship programs provide opportunities for people to actively engage in natural resource protection and caring for our environment. Other services to the District, included free walking tours at Sehmel and support for Parks Appreciation Day and National Public Lands Day. The School was supported by more than 1,900 volunteer hours from parents, grandparents, interns and others.
The Gig Harbor Senior Center is the only community-based center for active seniors age 55+ in the Gig Harbor area.
