TO PROVIDE AND COORDINATE THE HIGHEST QUALITY, COMPASSIONATE CARE FOR THE COMMUNITIES WE SERVE.
1. THE TRI-CITIES CANCER CENTER PROVIDES MANY SERVICES TO CANCER PATIENTS, THEIR FAMILIES AND THE COMMUNITY FREE OF CHARGE. THESE PROGRAMS CONSIST OF CANCER SCREENING, EARLY DETECTION, PREVENTION OF CANCER, NAVIGATION FOR PATIENTS, CHAPLAIN AND SOCIAL WORK SERVICES. IN 2019 THE TRI-CITIES CANCER CENTER PROVIDED FREE SCREENINGS FOR BREAST CANCER (158 SCREENED) AND CERVICAL CANCER (129 WOMEN SCREENED), SKIN CANCER (66 SCREENED), COLO-RECTAL CANCER (227 SCREENED), AND LUNG CANCER (1299 SCREENED). THE COMMUNITY EDUCATION PROGRAM SPANNED ALL ASPECTS OF CANCER TREATMENT, PREVENTION AND EARLY DETECTION, EDUCATION EVENTS HAD 348 ATTENDEES IN 2019. AN EXTRA EMPHASIS WAS PUT ON EDUCATION ABOUT HPV VACINATION AND PREVENTING CANCER WITH THE VACCINATION. (CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O) IN 2019 WE WERE ABLE TO INCREASE HPV VACCINATION IN OUR AREA BY 2%. THE WELLFIT PROGRAM HELD FOR PATIENT THAT HAVE RECENTLY COMPLETED CANCER TREATMENT IS A PARTNERSHIP WITH A LOCAL GYM FOR FREE FITNESS CLASSES FOR PATIENTS JUST OUT OF TREATMENT. SUPPORT GROUPS FOR CANCER PATIENTS WERE HELD ON-SITE MONTHLY FOR BREAST CANCER, OVARIAN CANCER, BRAIN TUMOR, LYMPHOMA-LEUKEMIA, PROSTATE, AND LARYNGECTOMIE SUPPORT. OTHER PROGRAMS FOR CANCER PATIENTS INCLUDED FREE FACIALS/SKIN CARE DURING TREATMENT FOR PATIENTS, WIG STYLING FOR PATIENTS WHO HAVE LOST THEIR HAIR, "LOOK GOOD...FEEL BETTER" PROGRAM, CHAIR MASSAGES IN THE WAITING AREA. NAVIGATION SERVICES FOR PATIENTS OFFERED FREE OF CHARGE INCLUDE SPECIALLY TRAINED RN'S, CHAPLAINS SERVICES AND SOCIAL WORKER SERVICES. THESE SERVICES CONSIST OF HELPING PATIENTS NAVIGATE THE HEALTH SYSTEM TO ENSURE PROMPT TESTING, TREATMENT AND ENCOMPASS PSYCH-SOCIAL SUPPORT AND FINANCIAL COUNSELING. THE CHAPLAIN NAVIGATORS SUPPORT THE SPIRITUAL NEEDS OF PATIENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES DURING THEIR CANCER JOURNEY. TOTAL NAVIGATION VISITS IN 2019 WERE 4508. OUR RESOURCE CENTER WAS USED BY 3247 PEOPLE.
