The Guild contracts with legal firms to represent its police officer members in their contract negotiations with the City of Kirkland. The Officers employment contract is negotiated an renewed every two years. In addition, the attorneys are retained throughout the year for contract disputes and other claims and/or actions that may be filed against any Officer(s) while engaged in their professional duties and activities.
The Guild offer members reasonable short-term, emergency loans. Such loans may not exceed $500 and must be repaid within 90 days.
The Guild organizes and sponsors various social events for the benefit of its members and their families. These events are not fund raisers and include a summer picnic, annual christmas party, retirement parties, and recognition events.
