Foster Growth in the Community
Facilitate job creation and manage growth in the community by recruiting new employers to the area, working with existing employers and overall business and infrastructure development. The CEDC continues to work on a variety of projects and programs involving the public and private sector. During 2019, the CEDC continued to work on contracts with the US Forest Service, SW Washington Community Foundation, Washington State Department of Commerce and the US Department of Commerce. The CEDC facilitated the location of three new companies creating over 90 new jobs and the expansion of five companies creating over 157 new jobs and an increase in the tax base for Cowlitz County. The current portfolio of projects represents over $5 billion in new capital investment.
