Organizations Filed Purposes: THE ADVENTURE TRAVEL CONSERVATION FUND (ATCF) IS A NONPROFIT THAT HARNESSES THE TRAVEL COMMUNITY'S ENVIRONMENTAL AND CULTURAL CONSERVATION EFFORTS FOR MAXIMUM IMPACT. THE ATCF DRAWS FROM A MEMBERSHIP BASE OF OVER SEVENTY INTERNATIONAL GEAR AND ADVENTURE TRAVEL COMPANIES, AS WELL AS ON-THE-GROUND ORGANIZATIONS AND PARTNERS, TO IDENTIFY CRITICAL CONSERVATION PROJECTS. THIS ALLOWS US ACCESS TO, WHAT WOULD OTHERWISE BE, UNKNOWN PROJECTS AND CONSERVATION NEEDS IN THE MOST REMOTE REGIONS OF THE WORLD.

RAISING EFFORTS AND PROVIDING FUNDS TO ORGANIZATIONS ENGAGED IN EFFORTS TO PROTECT AND PRESERVE THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT, AS WELL AS THE INTEGRITY OF LOCAL COMMUNITIES AND CULTURES, WITH AN EMPHASIS ON INTERNATIONAL DESTINATIONS OFTEN FREQUENTED AS PART OF ADVENTURE TRAVEL AND TOURISM.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT OF OTHER ORGANIZATIONS' CONSERVATION EFFORTS: OUR FUNDING IS USED TO PROTECT THREATENED COMMUNITIES, CULTURES AND WILD PLACES THROUGHOUT THE WORLD FOR THEIR CULTURAL, HABITAT AND RECREATIONAL VALUE. THE ATCF WILL PROVIDE GRANTS TO ORGANIZATIONS OUTSIDE NORTH AMERICA WHO SEEK FUNDING FOR PROJECTS THAT SUPPORT OUR MISSION AND FALL WITHIN ONE OF THE PROJECT CATEGORIES. PRESERVE AND PROTECT THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT: PRESERVING THE NATURAL CONDITIONS AND DIVERSITY OF DESTINATIONS IS CRITICAL TO SUSTAINING A VIABLE/QUALITY EXPERIENCE FOR TRAVELERS AND OUTDOOR RECREATIONALISTS IN PERPETUITY.

PRESERVE AND PROTECT INTEGRITY OF LOCAL COMMUNITIES AND CULTURES: OVER TIME, MANY HISTORIC AND CULTURAL ASSETS ARE AT RISK OF DISAPPEARING WITHOUT ANY RECORD. PRESERVING TRADITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, HISTORICAL SITES AND NATIVE LANGUAGE IS CRITICAL TO ENSURING THAT THE AUTHENTICITY AND SENSE OF PLACE IS MAINTAINED FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS. ADDITIONALLY, INVESTING IN THE PRESERVATION OF HISTORIC AND CULTURAL ASSETS WILL PROVIDE AN OPPORTUNITY FOR LOCAL COMMUNITIES TO BUILD AND BENEFIT FROM A SUSTAINABLE TOURISM ECONOMY.
