Organizations Filed Purposes: NORTHWEST AGRICULTURE BUSINESS CENTER (NABC) WILL IMPROVE THE ECONOMIC VITALITY OF THE AGRICULTURE INDUSTRY WITHIN THE NORTHWEST WASHINGTON COUNTIES OF ISLAND, KING, SAN JUAN, SKAGIT, SNOHOMISH AND WHATCOM BY PROVIDING BUSINESS RESOURCES AND HANDS-ON GUIDANCE TO NEW OR EXISTING BUSINESSES THAT PROVIDE VALUE-ADDED OR INNOVATIVE AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS OR SERVICES.

IMPROVE THE ECONOMIC VITALITY OF THE AGRICULTURAL INDUSTRY WITHIN NORTHWEST WASHINGTON COUNTIES.

RURAL COOPERATIVE DEVELOPMENT: THE MISSION OF THE RURAL COOPERATIVE DEVELOPMENT GRANT (RCDG) IS TO ASSIST INDIVIDUALS AND ENTITIES IN THE STARTUP EXPANSION AND OPERATIONAL IMPROVEMENT OF RURAL BUSINESSES, ESPECIALLY COOPERATIVES OR MUTUALLY OWNED BUSINESSES. THROUGH THIS PROGRAM THE NORTHWEST AGRICULTURE BUSINESS CENTER WILL PROVIDE SERVICES SUCH AS APPLIED RESEARCH, PLANNING AND FEASIBILITY STUDIES THAT WILL ASSIST IN COOPERATIVE DEVELOPMENT, COLLECTION, INTERPRETATION AND DISSEMINATION OF PRINCIPLES, FACTS, TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE, OR OTHER INFORMATION OF THE PURPOSE OF COOPERATIVE DEVELOPMENT, PROVIDING TRAINING AND INSTRUCTION FOR THE PURPOSE OF COOPERATIVE DEVELOPMENT, ASSISTING CLIENTS IN THE ACQUISITION OF LOANS AND GRANTS FOR THE PURPOSE OF COOPERATIVE DEVELOPMENT AND PROVIDING TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE RESEARCH SERVICE AND ADVISORY SERVICES FOR THE PURPOSE OF COOPERATIVE DEVELOPMENT.

CLIENT SERVICES: NABC PROVIDES TECHNICAL BUSINESS ASSISTANCE TO FARMS AND FOOD-RELATED BUSINESSES SEEKING TO LAUNCH OR EXPAND THEIR VALUE-ADDED PRODUCTS AND SERVICES. WE PROVIDE BUSINESS PLAN DEVELOPMENT AND ENTERPRISE FEASIBILITY EVALUATION SUPPORT, ACCESS TO CAPITAL SUCH AS GRANT APPLICATION PREPARATION AND LENDER IDENTIFICATION AND PROCESS ASSISTANCE, AND ACCESS TO MARKETS THROUGH FACILITATED BUYER-SELLER CONNECTIONS, EDUCATION IN WHOLESALE AND DISTRIBUTION STRATEGIES, AND MORE. SERVICES ARE MADE POSSIBLE BY FUNDING THROUGH GOVERNMENT AND PRIVATE INSTITUTION GRANT PROGRAMS, AND CLIENT SERVICES FEES BASED ON SCOPE OF WORK AND OTHER CRITERIA.

EDUCATION AND OUTREACH: NORTHWEST AGRICULTURE BUSINESS CENTER'S EDUCATIONAL AND OUTREACH PROGRAMS ARE TARGETED TO BOTH NEW AND EXISTING FARMERS AND PROCESSORS. PROGRAMS INCLUDE SPECIFIC TECHNICAL TRAINING, SUCH AS THE CIDER-MAKING WORKSHOPS OFFERED IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE WASHINGTON STATE UNIVERSITY RESEARCH PROGRAM, AND A MEAT-CUTTING WORKSHOP RUN IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE ISLAND GROWN FARMER'S COOPERATIVE. IN ADDITION, SEMINARS ON A RANGE OF TOPICS SUCH AS VALUE-ADDED PROCESSING ARE OFFERED.
