The mission of the CDBC is to leverage the influence of performing arts in the lives of regional youth, leading to the development of 21st Century skills they will need to thrive in our ever-changing world. The CDBC is committed to providing unique educational and competitive programs that emphasize commitment, teamwork, and the pursuit of excellence.
To promote & aid the cultural, musical enrichment of youth musicians ages 13-22. A youth activity in the world of competitive drum & bugle corps which is an intense, choreographed musical experience staged on football stadium fields by members achieving high levels of excellence in performance. Through the drum & bugle corps experience, young people develop life skills including self-discipline, teamwork, & leadership.
The Columbians Drum and Bugle Corps completed another successful season of Open Class Competition with 116 members traveling across five states competing in six competitions. These Drum & Bugle competitions improve marching skills, provide musical enrichment and enhancement, promote teamwork, discipline, leadership, and improve self-esteem.
