Organizations Filed Purposes:
We gather people who seek to connect their faith, life, and work in the richness of community, sending them into our changing society with a renewed sense of calling. As a Christian-based center, we host and serve individuals, families, churches, and non-profit groups.
In 2020, we experienced a significant reduction in overall operations due to COVID-19 restrictions. Nevertheless, Ingalls Creek served 9 groups, 59 families, 520 people, and hosted 1,317 total bed nights. Six of the families included pastors households seeking much needed retreat from the demands of their day-to-day ministries. Comments received from guests reveal that retreat experiences met a huge need for personal, family, and/or group mental, spiritual health as they navigated challenges of the pandemic. The natural setting of Ingalls Creek proved especially restorative and helpful.
Ingalls Creek welcomed three Whitworth University summer fellowship students through a successful program in its 6th consecutive year. Students participate in service-learning internships with vulnerable, minority, and low-income populations through the local MEND non-profit, a partnership with Trinity Church in Wenatchee serving the Methow Park neighborhood and Parque Padrinos network, and also introduced low-income and/or minority households to outdoor art, and physical and educational experiences on the Ingalls Creek property. While unable to host large groups due to the pandemic, Ingalls Creek staff and volunteers designed and led three virtual retreats serving 100 people on topics addressing life-stage transitions. Ingalls Creek applied for and received grant approval for adding a full-time program director to oversee the Ingalls Creeks Center for Faith, Aclling, and Community programs. A new hire start date is projected for July 2021.
