BUILDING MUTUALLY SUPPORTIVE RELATIONSHIPS WITH OUR COMMUNITY'S BUSINESSES, GOVERNMENT, AND ORGANIZATIONS; PRESENTING SPECIAL EVENTS; ENCOURAGING COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT THAT RESULTS IN A HIGH QUALITY OF LIFE FOR OUR RESIDENTS AND; ENHANCING OUR POSITION AS A PREMIER VISITOR DESTINATION.
THE PROSSER CHAMBER OF COMMERCE SUPPORTS THE GROWTH AND IMPROVEMENT OF OUR BUSINESS COMMUNITY.
TOURISM PROMOTION AND VISITORS INFORMATION CENTER- PROSSER CHAMBER OF COMMERCE (PCOC) OPERATES THE VISITORS INFORMATION CENTER (VIC) WITH TOURIST INFORMATION ABOUT PROSSER AND THE SURROUNDING AREA AS WELL AS OTHER STATE REGIONS. PCOC ALSO ADVERTISES AND PROMOTES OUR LOCAL BUSINESSES, EVENTS AND ATTRACTIONS THROUGH A TOURISM SPECIFIC WEBSITE (WWW.TOURPROSSER.COM) A VARIETY OF PRINT MEDIA, SOCIAL MEDIA, A PRINTED VISITORS GUIDE BROCHURE THAT IS MAILED TO MORE THAN 200 REGIONAL AREA INFORMATION CENTERS, AND TRADE SHOWS. APPROXIMATELY 50% OF THE CHAMBER'S FUNDING AND A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF TIME ARE DEVOTED TO THIS AREA.
COMMUNITY EVENTS- THE PROSSER CHAMBER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR HOSTING 12+ COMMUNITY EVENTS EACH YEAR IN THE MONTHS JANUARY-NOVEMBER. EACH OF THESE EVENTS IS GEARED TOWARDS GROWING PROSSER BUSINESSES, BUILDING ASSOCIATIONS BETWEEN MEMBERS, DRAWING VISITORS TO OUR AREA, AND PROMOTING OUR COMMUNITY AT LARGE. EVENTS RANGE IN SIZE FROM AN ATTENDANCE OF 200 TO 2,500 PEOPLE AND APPROXIMATELY 35% OF THE CHAMBER'S TIME, ENERGY, AND FUNDS ARE DEVOTED TO THESE EVENTS.
BUSINESS GROWTH AND MEMBERSHIP- THE FINAL FOCUS OF THE PROSSER CHAMBER OF COMMERCE IS TO FACILITATE BUSINESS GROWTH IN ANY AREA NOT ALREADY FOCUSED ON IN OUR FIRST TWO ACTIVITIES. THIS INCLUDES BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO: MAINTAINING BOTH A PRINT AND ONLINE BUSINESS DIRECTORY THAT ALLOWS US TO RECOMMEND MEMBER BUSINESSES TO COMMUNITY MEMBERS AND VISITORS, PROVIDING AREA INFORMATION AND REFERENCES TO THOSE INTERESTED IN RELOCATING HERE, AND FACILITATING MEMBER NETWORKING THROUGH MEETINGS AND MEMBER SPECIFIC SOCIAL EVENTS. APPROXIMATELY 15% OF THE CHAMBER'S FUNDS, TIME AND ENERGY ARE DEVOTED TO THIS AREA.
