To share the Gospel of Jesus Christ to unreached groups in Ethiopia. To give care to children in Ethiopia who have been abandoned or removed from parental care by government authority.
NewLife brings encouragement and support to 30 indigenous missionaries working in 23 Muslim villages to aid in community development along with offering the hope and freedom of Jesus Christ. Four churches have been constructed in villages where the Christian faith has never before been embraced. Children's programs have been implemented in ten church plants, and 20 Christian education teachers have received training in a 4-day workshop. In villages where there is not access to school, missionaries have begun a literacy program two times a week for women and children to learn to read. There is a strong presence through a website and other social media that bring more sophisticated resources to Muslims and Christians with an online forum for dialogue and apologetics. The materials and website have been translated into three Ethiopian languages. A training center and dormitory has been constructed that will host a two-year bible school for potential church leaders, evangelists and pastors. 60 children in a rural Muslim village from the poorest homes receive pre-school, pre-K and kindergarten education with the goal of acquiring reading, writing and math basics. The graduating kindergartners are provided with all necessities (backpack, school supplies, uniform, school fees) to enable them to successfully transition into first grade at the government school. NewLife provides full financial resources for an orphanage caring for abandoned children. Adoption awareness and recruitment are provided through adoption seminars and all children in the care center are legally adopted into qualified, stable Ethiopian families.
