Organizations Filed Purposes: Weed Warriors, DBA Nature Stewards Program provides opportunities to connect to nature by planting native species in habitat restoration projects, controlling noxious weeds in public parks, trails, and open spaces while educating about environmental stewardship to achieve healthier air, water and land. Provides educational & hands on events that empowers people to become environmental stewards. Provides awareness & the tools to make environmentally friendly decisions. Educational programs include sustainable gardening, creating pollinator, rain and native habitat gardens, identifying invasive weeds and how to remove and has constructed display gardens to provide further stewardship education.

Weed Warriors, DBA Nature Stewards Program mission is to promote environmental stewardship and inspire everyone to protect the native habitat and achieve a healthy environment. They provide educational and hands on events that empowers people to become environmental stewards and the tools to make environmentally friendly decisions. Educational programs include sustainable gardening, growing back yard and community garden vegetables, maintaining, planting and harvesting fruit orchards, growing pollinator gardens, building rain gardens and native habitat gardens, providing habitat restoration and invasive weed removal.

Environmental Stewardship Outreach program places knowledgeable people at community events to empower individuals to become environmental stewards and inspires everyone to protect and restore the native habitat. Presentations, informational handouts, examples of native plants and answers to environmental concerns are addressed. Protecting and improving the air, water and land for future generations through educating the community, including sustainable gardening practice is what this program delivers.

New Start Community Garden is over an acre of leased land with a community pea patch, fruit orchard, berry patch, pollinator garden and space for local high school students and community members to get their hands on experience growing food crops, building garden beds and composting. Aiming to provide local produce, reducing the carbon footprint of transporting food, growing community cohesiveness while promoting sustainable practices. The excess food grown is donated to the community. This program was supported by a grant from the Airport Community Ecology Fund, and in-kind materials. This is a fiscally sponsored grant specific project.

Hazel Valley Community Garden. This project created rain gardens to divert storm water runoff and channel it into the Native edible rain gardens. Vegetable planting beds are installed to promote locally sourced food and reduce the carbon footprint of transporting food.
