Organizations Filed Purposes: Aurora Commons provides a welcoming space for our unhoused neighbors to rest, prepare a meal and connect to resources.

The Aurora Commons offers the only drop-in space on North Aurora directly serving women who are commercially sexually exploited, many of whom are drug dependent. We have developed relationships with over 300 women who work along Aurora, with 8963 visits to the Commons; 503 new neighbors visited the space. We matched 39 people with housing and helped 122 people gain access to addiction treatment. On Wednesday evenings and Thursday afternoons through February 2020, the Commons makes available, for female identifying clients. The Safe Healthy and Empowered (SHE) Clinic run by UW Medicine operated on Wednesdays from 11a-2p. The purpose of the SHE Clinic is to provide kind, quality, nonjudgmental healthcare to women on Aurora Avenue. SHE served 128 women in 2019. On Monday nights through February 2020 we hosted male identifying clients who can come in and make pizza, watch sports, and take a break. COVID-19 shifted how most of our programming functioned, we changed the Drop-in Hours to Mon-Thurs 10-1, and open to everyone. We had to pause our Monday & Wednesday evening hours.
