Organizations Filed Purposes: Citizen University is building a culture of powerful, responsible citizenship across the country. We envision a great civic revival across our nation - our dream is a country in which Americans are steeped in a sense of civic character, educated in the tools of civic power, and are problem-solving contributors in a self-governing community.

See mission statement.

Civic Saturdays: Civic Saturday is a civic analogue to a faith gathering. It's a space to come together as friends and strangers to nurture a sense of shared purpose in our democracy, and to reflect on the values and practices of being a contributing member to civic life in the United States. At Civic Saturdays, we sing together, hear readings of "civic scripture" and poetry, reflect on a "civic sermon", and gather in circles to connect and commit to action. Our communities need civic gathering spaces, and Civic Saturday is a place to reflect and rededicate ourselves to the practice of being powerful, responsible citizens. Citizen University runs a training program, called our Civic Saturday Fellowship, where we equip local leaders from across the country to lead Civic Saturday gatherings in their hometowns. Fellows convene for a three-day intensive training to explore the concept of American Civic Religion, delve into the ethical foundations of their beliefs, learn to craft and deliver catalytic civic sermons, and create a Civic Saturday program in their communities. Civic Saturdays are now happening nearly every weekend in communities around the country.

Youth Collaboratory: This program brings together civic-minded high school sophomores and juniors from across the country for three national convenings where they engage around the idea and ideals of civic power, how to harness it, and how to share their learnings in their communities in the form of a personal project. In addition, our Youth Collaboratory students have the opportunity to participate in our National Civic Collaboratory meetings, offering an unparalleled opportunity for cross-generational relationship building, which has led to several new partnerships between our Youth and National Collaboratory members. Students are active participants in the meeting activities and make commitments of help and support for national civic projects.

The Civic Collaboratory is a national mutual aid society and project incubator for hundreds of the country's most innovative civic practitioners and catalysts from across the political spectrum. At our meetings held in cities around the US, innovators experiment and test new ideas, share cutting-edge projects, and form norms of collaboration as they support one another in their work. We have members from across the political spectrum and many domains -immigrant rights, veterans advocacy, civics education, voting reform, tech in government, arts and culture, worker organizing, corporate citizenship, and more. This group meets quarterly to support each other not just with ideas or feedback, but to provide true commitments of help and support to get a slate of national projects and initiatives off the ground.
