CENTS empowers people to improve their financial health by developing educational and legal resources to help them prevent or overcome financial challenges.
Consumer bankruptcy education
Debt Slapped. National multimedia financial empowerment program consisting of educational video, companion website, and in-class activity for high school students about the perils of excessive student loans and credit card debt. CENTS has helped 2,115 students throughout Washington with in-person presentations of the activity.
Senior Money. This program features Washington State Attorney General Bob Ferguson and the Honorable Karen A Ovestreet ret.. Senior Money is a multimedia consumer education program for senior citizens.
Financial Planning for Cancer. CENTS started to build the infrastructure for a program that will pair Certified Financial Planners CPFs with cancer patients and/or their caregivers. In 2019, CENTS helped over 156 cancer patients and their families work proactively to reduce the negative impact of the high cost of cancer tteatment.
