Organizations Filed Purposes:
We preserve and enhance Dunn Gardens as a public resource, celebrating the original 1915 Olmsted design and showcasing the evolution of garden design in the Pacific Northwest.
Garden Maintenance and Operation. The E.B. Dunn Historic Garden Trust preserves, maintains, and operates the gardens and facilities of a 7.5 acre historic landscape. Approximately 800 people visited the gardens on docent led tours. The visitors received plant, garden design, and Olmsted garden information from the docents and curator.
Docents, Lectures, and Classes: The Dunn Gardens has a very active docent program. The docents are trained regularly through lectures, field trips, and workshops. Classes are also held in the gardens in conjunction with horticulture experts to share expertise and create additional learning opportunities for a wide community audience. The Dunn Gardens hosts several special events every year. These include corporate retreats, weddings, non-profit luncheons, and special classes. The Garden provides a beautiful peaceful location for events while exposing guests to historical garden design and conservation.
