ECOSS educates and empowers businesses and diverse communities to implement environmentally sustainable practices.
All Others - ECOSS works with Municipalities to reach out to businesses, teach them about the dangers of spills into the sewer system and give them a Spill Kit to clean up spills before they reach the drain. ECOSS organizes workshops to teach businesses that have NPDES Stormwater Permits what the rules are and best business practices for staying within compliance.
Multicultural Outreach Team (MCOT) - The ECOSS Multicultural Outreach Team provides environmental education, technical assistance, and access to resources in multiple languages for businesses and in hard-to-reach communities. We contract with Puget Sound area municipalities, the City of Seattle, King County and environmental consulting firms to help them deliver their services in multiple languages. ECOSS engages in listening sessions, creates feedback loops, and provides meaningful opportunities for communities to participate in decision-making. We raise the unheard voices of small businesses and those most affected by environmental disparities. We empower communities and individuals to become leaders and advocate for solutions in their neighborhoods.
Resource Conservation Program - ECOSS works with municipalities to help them address solid waste management. We provide materials and services in multiple languages to build recycling and composting capacity via technical assistance and multicultural outreach. Work is focused on immigrant and refugee owned/staffed businesses, multicultural restaurants and multifamily residences.
