Organizations Filed Purposes:
Focusing on the need for healthier, more culturally relevant food in school, FEEST supports the leadership of youth in South Seattle and South King County to transform the culture and systems that directly impact their lives. Our work challenges the root causes of food injustice by placing those most impacted at the forefront of change.
To set the table for young people to transform the health and equity of their community by gathering around food and working towards systems change.
The Weekly Dinner Program hosts 45 dinners annually serving over 350 youth at four high school sites to cook a healthy, culturally relevant dinner and build anlaysis of food systems and school food.
Coalition Building Community Outreach - Working in White Center, Highline School District and Seattle Public Schools to build an alliance of organizations to support youth-led demands for healthier schools.Outreach programs to engage low income youth and families in healthy and active living in White Center and Delridge communities. This includes collaborating with the other community based organizations to advance health equity for all people in our communities.
School Organizing - FEEST organizes low income youth of color to build power and run campaigns demanding culturally relevant, healthy and fresh food in their schools across four distinct neighborhoods Rainier Beach, Delridge, White Center and Sea-Tac.
