HAMLIN ROBINSON SCHOOL IGNITES THE ACADEMIC AND CREATIVE POTENTIAL OF STUDENTS WITH DYSLEXIA AND OTHER LANGUAGE BASED DIFFERENCES. HAMLIN ROBINSON SCHOOL OFFERS A FULL DAY ENRICHED EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS IN GRADES 1 - 8 WITH DYSLEXIA AND OTHER RELATED LANGUAGE DIFFICULTIES. THE COMPREHENSIVE CURRICULUM WHICH INCLUDES LANGUAGE ARTS, READING, MATH, SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, AND THE ARTS UTILIZES MULTI-SENSORY EDUCATION METHODS DESIGNED TO HELP STUDENTS WITH LANGUAGE DIFFICULTIES ACHIEVE ACADEMIC SUCCESS. WITHIN THE RICH EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM, THE SCHOOL FOCUSES ON CONCEPTS, COMPREHENSION, SKILL BUILDING, SELF ADVOCACY, AND HELPING STUDENTS DISCOVER THE JOY OF LEARNING. CHILDREN COME FROM OVER A 50 MILE RADIUS AND FROM BOTH PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SCHOOLS. MANY STUDENTS ENTER THE SCHOOL TESTING BELOW GRADE LEVEL AND RETURN TO PRIVATE AND/OR PUBLIC HIGH SCHOOLS WITH CONFIDENCE AND SUCCESS.
HAMLIN ROBINSON SCHOOL OFFERS AN AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM. THIS PROGRAM OFFERS ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES TO STUDENTS OF THE REGULAR SCHOOL PROGRAM. ACTIVITIES RANGE FROM ULTIMATE FRISBEE, CROSS-COUNTRY RUNNING CLUB, AND TAE KWON DO, TO CERAMICS, PHOTOGRAPHY AND GUITAR LESSONS. THE PROGRAM IS A CONTINUATION OF THE DAY PROGRAM WHERE CHILDREN ARE GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITIES TO EXPERIENCE SUCCESS AND CULTIVATE OTHER LIFE LONG SKILLS. THIS PROGRAM INCLUDES THE HOMEWORK CLUB, AN AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM THAT OFFERS ASSISTANCE AND PROCTORING FOR STUDENTS AS THEY COMPLETE DAILY HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS. THIS PROGRAM IS OFFERED TO STUDENTS OF THE REGULAR SCHOOL PROGRAM. ANOTHER AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM OFFERED IS LEARNING SERVICES, TUTORING, PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION, SCREENING FOR BOTH THE IN YEAR SCHOOL PROGRAM AND THE OUTSIDE COMMUNITY. THESE CLASSES ARE GENERALLY INDIVIDUAL AND FOCUS ON LANGUAGE ARTS, READING AND MATH. SCREENINGS ARE OFFERED FOR THOSE NOT IN THE IN YEAR SCHOOL PROGRAM WHOSE FAMILIES DESIRE A THOROUGH SCREENING FOR BETTER UNDERSTANDING AND ADDRESSING LEARNING DIFFERENCES. PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION TO OTHER TEACHERS AND EDUCATIONAL PROFESSIONS SUCH AS LECTURES, MOVIES OR TRAININGS IN PARTICULAR METHODOLOGIES.
HAMLIN ROBINSON SCHOOL OFFERS A 5 WEEK SUMMER PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS IN GRADES 1 - 8. THIS PROGRAM IS DESIGNED AS COMMUNITY OUTREACH THAT INCLUDES STUDENTS FROM THE GREATER SEATTLE COMMUNITY AS WELL AS CURRENT HAMLIN ROBINSON SCHOOL STUDENTS. LANGUAGE ARTS AND READING ARE THE PRIMARY FOCUS OF THE MORNING SESSIONS. AN AFTERNOON SUMMER SCHOOL SESSION IS PROVIDED FOR THOSE ENROLLED IN THE MORNING SUMMER SESSION AND OFFERS ACADEMIC SUBJECTS SUCH AS MATH AND ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES SUCH AS WORLD CULTURE, SCIENCE, AND TAE KWON DO.
