The Juniper Fund provides relief funds via unconditional direct cash transfer to families who have suffered poverty and financial strain as a result of the death of the sole financial support due to an accident or medical incident while working in the Himalayan mountains during a commercial or private expedition. In 2020, we supported 48 different families, which equates to 185 individual family members, through 3 primary programs: 1) Cost of Living & Needs Based Grants, 2) Vocational Training & Scholarships, and 3) Business Grants. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, The Juniper Fund had lower use of direct program grants, specifically the use of vocational training and business grants.
