Organizations Filed Purposes: The mission of OneWorld Now! is to develop the next generation of global leaders. Our approach combines foreign language learning, leadership training for 21st century skills, one-on-one mentoring, and access to study abroad scholarships.

OneWorld Now! is an educational foreign language and leadership training program for underserved high school youth. OneWorld Now! partners with public schools to provide access to international educational opportunities to mostly low-income youth. In 2018, OneWorld Now! worked primarily in Seattle Public Schools. Students commit to joining the program for one to two years and meet three days a week after school to learn a foreign language and participate in leadership training. The language classes are twice weekly and during after-school hours at the public high schools. The leadership workshops are held weekly and focus on global leadership skills development and intercultural communication.

Annually, OneWorld Now! awards scholarship-based study abroad opportunities to its students. Through the study abroad programming, students embark on a life changing journey to develop intercultural leadership skills, experience immersion learning and carry out community service on a chaperoned trip abroad. In 2018, OneWorld Now! worked with third party study abroad partners to send students to China and Morocco.

In 2018 OneWorld Now! offered Summer Language and Leadership Camps in Seattle, WA. The camp focused on fostering language acquisition, intercultural understanding, and a desire for international travel. During the camp, students learned basic communicative writing, reading, listening, and speaking skills in classes using immersion methodology. The camp also introduced students to practices and perspectives of the Arab-speaking and Chinese-speaking world, as well as the leadership skills that will enable them to grow as youth leaders with a global perspective. Students learned through classroom activities, guest speakers, music, and field trips. In Seattle, the camp ran for three weeks from 9 am to 3 pm, and included both Modern Standard Arabic and Mandarin Chinese.
