1. Core PNWER Meetings Program. In order to promote greater regional collaboration, PNWER facilitated many meetings throughout the year that were fundamental to the PNWER mission. PNWER officers hosted meetings to discuss relevant regional issues with legislative leadership and other government and private sector stakeholders during legislative sessions. PNWER hosted an annual Economic leadership Forum in November 2019 in Seattle, Washington. Legislators from Pacific Northwest states and Western Canadian provinces met during this three day meeting focused on Trade, Innovation, Pacific Northwest Space Cluster, Autonomous Vehicles, 5G Networks, Smart Grid Technologies, Maritime Industries, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, and Enhanced Border Facilitation. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, PNWER hosted a virtual "Moving Forward: A Sector-by-Sector Approach to Economic Recovery Webinar Series." This series included more than 15 webinars, 50 expert speakers, and hundreds of participants from across the PNWER region and beyond.

2. The Center for Regional Disaster Resilience (CRDR) Program focused on emergency preparedness and disaster resilience projects across the Pacific Northwest to improve the economic resilience of the region. The program worked with states, provinces, territories and communities to create public-private partnerships, developed action plans and led pilot projects to improve regional disaster resilience. PNWER CRDR program transitioned all of its 2020 programming to virtual platforms, hosting a series of various virtual workshops primarily focused on cybersecurity. PNWER hosted virtual cyber workshops on behalf of Washington Homeland Security Region Six, which included "Cyber Threats & Trends: Impacts to the Connected Worker" and "Cybersecurity: Privacy and Risk." The CRDR continued its long-standing collaboration with the Idaho Office of Emergency Management through virtual workshops that provided stakeholder with resources, best practices, and recommendations for the work-from-home transition. As part of the COVID-19 RESPONSE AND RECOVERY initiative, PNWER began assembling calls of elected officials and economic development leaders across the Pacific Northwest during the pandemic. These COVID-19 Response calls provided regional leaders the opportunity to discuss best practices and lessons learned during the crisis. Topics of the calls include "Rapid COVID Testing in the U.S. and Canada," "Contact Tracing and Exposure Notification Apps," "Economic Recovery Dashboards," and "Broadband Access as a Tool for Economic Recovery."

3. PNWER's Energy Program in collaboration with other energy related entities leads the Legislative Energy Horizon Institute (LEHI). LEHI is a 60-hour course certificate program in energy policy designed to educate state and provincial legislators and policymakers on the North American energy infrastructure and delivery system. The Institute's comprehensive curriculum helps policymakers understand how energy systems and infrastructure work, how energy infrastructure is build and financed, and the regulation and market impacts on energy infrastructure. The LEHI class of 2020 was unable to meet in person this year, so students accepted into the program will join the class of 2021. PNWER's Energy program partnered with Northwestern Energy and Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems to hold a webinar on the future of the Western power grid. The program has been focused on working with utility executives from across the region to discuss viable solutions for decarbonizing the Pacific Northwest's energy grids, including the usage of hydrogen as a clean energy storage mechanism.
