Organizations Filed Purposes: Powerful Voices provides violence prevention and youth development activities to young people who are socialized and/or identify as a girl, ages 12-18. Powerful Voices is focused on girls most impacted by oppression and violence. Powerful Voices also engages adult allies to work in solidarity with girls to create a more just world. Our vision is for all girls to live healthy, personally meaningful lives in a society that values them.

POWERFUL VOICES creates brave spaces with girls* of color to take charge of their own power as leaders, igniting their abilities to confidently express themselves, build community, and act against injustices affecting their lives. *those who identify or socialize as a girl

CULTURAL ENRICHMENT: The Cultural Enrichment program is both "in school" and summer programs for 12-14 year old girls*. The in school program is a space for girls to learn about themselves, increase pride in their identity and furthermore learn how to navigate the world around them. The curriculum is delivered through group and individual sessions of up to no more than 15 girls. The program was offered in two Seattle Public middle schools, reaching 20 girls. The summer Post It Up program (in collaboration with the Employment Program) was a space where girls exercised their creativity and used art to create social justice change, involving 20 girls. We served additional girls through our partnership with other community organizations such as Atlantic Street Center. The Cultural Enrichment program served 73 girls in 2019. *those who identify and socialize as a girl

STUDENT ADVOCACY: The Student Advocacy program is a 1:1 direct support and summer program for 12-18 year old girls* who are at risk of experiencing and/or perpetuating violence. We support our girls in achieving their goals such as improving their grades, getting a job, finding independent housing, and more. Our Summer Punch program provided tools for navigating trauma and cultivating healthy survival strategies. The Student Advocacy program served 26 girls in 2019. * those who identify or socialize as a girl

EMPLOYMENT: The Employment program offers both after school and summer programs for 14-18 year old girls*. Our after school program is a job readiness program where girls learn about social justice issues that impact them while building job readiness skills. Activistas was our spring employment program employing 9 young women to develop and present workshops at the annual Girlvolution Conference. Our summer Post it Up event was a space where girls gained basic art production skills and worked collectively to produce their own posters to showcase how they see the world. The Employment program served 30 youth in 2019.* those who identify and socialize as a girl
