Rain City Rock Camp empowers girls, women, and gender non-conforming individuals to engage their creative potential through music, champion equity, and thrive in a community of allies and activists.
Rain City Rock Camp Summer Camp - Week-long day camps with instrument instruction, band coaching and workshops on self-esteem and self-empowerment. Three camps in Seattle and Tacoma serving a total of 200 youth, and 200 adult community members participated as volunteers. Approximately 1600 community members attended the end-of-camp showcases, where the youth performed the original songs they had written that week. Tuition reduction assistance was provided to campers, valued at $16,623. Programming continued its expansion geographically in Tacoma in order to serve a more diverse population of youth and adult community members.
Ladies Rock Camp - Three-day "camp" experiences for women ages 21 and up, with instrument instruction, band coaching, and workshops on self esteem and self empowerment. Three camps served a total of 68 women, and 91 women participated as volunteers. Approximately 450 community members attended the end-of-camp showcases, where the participants performed the original songs they had written that week.
Year-Round Programming - Camps and year-round programming with leadership building, instrument instruction, band coaching, and workshops on self-esteem and self-empowerment. A total of 35 teen girls were served, and 12 community members participated as volunteers.
