WITH 80 ROOMS, THE SEATTLE HOUSE PROVIDES SUPPORTIVE, TEMPORARY LODGING TO FAMILIES OF SERIOUSLY ILL CHILDREN WHO MUST LEAVE THEIR OWN COMMUNITY TO HAVE THEIR CHILDREN TREATED AT SEATTLE CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL. IN 2019, 419 FAMILIES STAYED AT THE SEATTLE HOUSE.THE SEATTLE RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE IS A COMFORTABLE AND NURTURING ENVIRONMENT. FAMILIES HAVE THEIR OWN INDIVIDUAL ROOMS AND BATHROOMS AND SHARE THE REST OF THE HOUSE - A FULLY EQUIPPED KITCHEN AND DINING AREA, A STOCKED PANTRY, COMPUTER LAB, LAUNDRY FACILITIES, A MOVIE THEATER AND PLAY AREAS. CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL IS JUST A BLOCK AWAY. FAMILIES WHO STAY

AT RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE ARE FAR FROM HOME AND WORRIED ABOUT THEIR CHILDREN. MOST ARE ALSO STRUGGLING FINANCIALLY. BY PROVIDING A SUPPORTIVE PLACE TO STAY, RMHC HELPS KEEP FAMILIES TOGETHER DURING A VERY DIFFICULT TIME IN THEIR LIVES. THE SEATTLE RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE COULD NOT RUN WITHOUT COMMITTED VOLUNTEERS. IN 2019, VOLUNTEERS COMMITTED OVER 44,600 HOURS OF TIME - THE EQUIVALENT OF TWENTY ONE FULL-TIME STAFF MEMBERS. VOLUNTEER JOBS INCLUDE FRONT DESK SHIFTS, COOKING DINNER FOR FAMILIES, DRIVING OUR VAN, WEEK-END HOUSE MANAGEMENT, CLEANING, RUNNING THE FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER AND MANY OTHER WAYS TO HELP. VOLUNTEER APPLICATIONS ARE AVAILABLE ON OUR WEBSITE.

RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE CHARITIES OF WESTERN WASHINGTON & ALASKA ALSO OPERATES A HOUSE IN ANCHORAGE, ALASKA, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE ALASKA NATIVE MEDICAL CENTER. THE 34-ROOM HOUSE IS WITHIN THE PATIENT HOUSING BUILDING AND SERVES EXPECTANT MOTHERS WITH HIGH RISK PREGNANCIES AS WELL AS FAMILIES OF PEDIATRIC PATIENTS AT THE ALASKA NATIVE MEDICAL CENTER. IN 2019, 1,490 FAMILIES WERE SERVED AT THE HOUSE AT ANMC.RMHC ALSO PROVIDES VAN SERVICE IN ANCHORAGE TO TRANSPORT FAMILIES WHO ARE IN ANCHORAGE WHILE THEIR CHILDREN RECEIVE MEDICAL CARE.
