Sawhorse Revolution fosters confident, community-oriented youth through the power of carpentry and craft.
2019 was a year of extensive community partnerships and projects for Sawhorse's diverse high school youth. Sawhorse worked with over 150 students on 11 projects, teaming groups of 8-15 students with carpenters and designers to create 3 tiny homes for people experiencing homelessness, neared completion on a 225 square foot social justice library, refurbished the whimsical Dream Archive and Tree House at Sawhorse Summer Camp, a gorgeous toolshed for the African Center for innovation and Education, built two wheelchair ramps, and completed a security booth for a local homeless camp. Students also designed a tiny house of all salvaged materials, planned for completion in 2020.
