Organizations Filed Purposes:
Seattle Girls Choir provides a robust education in the choral arts and a variety of performance opportunities, helping girls build skills to succeed in life, and enriching the cultural landscape of the Pacific Northwest.
Music Education: Core program service is music and choral education for over 180choristers ages 6-18. Rehearsals were held 147 days during season. Girls come from over 85 different schools in the greater Seattle area showing broad interest in the program.
Camps, Retreats, Festival and Touring: Managed two one-week sessions of unauditioned Music Day Camp for girls 5-10 years old, and one week Day Camp for current choristers grades 3-4. Managed a week long resident Choir Camp for 75 girls 10-18 years old. The Eastern Europe tour was postponed and the Day Camp and Choir Camp were cancelled in FY2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Concerts and Performances: In order to support the choral education, concerts are sponsored and performance opportunities secured throughout the season. More than 15 concerts/performances are coordinated in a normal season.
