TOWN HALL PRODUCTIONS: TOWN HALL SEATTLE PRODUCES 200+ PROGRAMS ANNUALLY, SPANNING SCIENCE, CIVICS, THE ARTS, AND CULTURE. FROM CHAMBER, WORLD, AND FAMILY CONCERTS TO PUBLIC POLICY FORUMS AND SCIENTIFIC DISCOVERY, TOWN HALL'S SEASON IS A PRESENT-TENSE REFLECTION OF LIFE ON THE PUGET SOUND. WITH WIDE-OPEN DOORS AND DEEPLY AFFORDABLE TICKET PRICES, TOWN HALL IS WHERE OUR COMMUNITY COMES TOGETHER TO BE INFORMED AND INSPIRED, AND TO CONSIDER THE FUTURE OF OUR CITY. TOWN HALL CLOSED ITS DOORS IN MARCH 2020 AS A RESULT OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, WITHIN TWO WEEKS OF THAT CLOSURE OUR DIGITAL STAGE OPENED AND WE PRESENTED 75 VIRTUAL PROGRAMS THROUGH JUNE 2020.
RENTALS: TOWN HALL SEATTLE IS A SHARED RESOURCE FOR NEARLY 90 COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS THAT RELY ON THE FACILITY AS AN AFFORDABLE PERFORMANCE AND MEETING HOME, AS WELL AS A SOURCE OF PRODUCTION AND PROMOTIONAL SUPPORT. RENTALS WERE ON HIATUS DURING THE 2018 AND 2019 SEASONS AS THE BUILDING UNDERWENT EXTENSIVE RENOVATION. 91 RENTALS WERE HOSTED IN THE 2020 SEASON BEFORE TOWN HALL CLOSED ITS DOORS IN MARCH 2020 AS A RESULT OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC.
CAPITAL PROJECT: TOWN HALL IS HOUSED IN A FEDERALLY DESIGNATED HISTORIC LANDMARK THAT TURNED 100 IN 2016. THE ORGANIZATION UNDERTOOK A MAJOR CAPITAL PROJECT FROM Q3 2017 - Q2 2019 TO SUSTAIN THE BUILDING; THE CORRESPONDING INCREASES IN TOWN HALL'S REVENUES AND FLUCTUATIONS IN TOWN HALL'S EXPENSES DURING THAT TIME ARE DUE TO WORK ON THIS RENOVATION. THE RESTORATION ADDRESSED NECESSARY SEISMIC AND INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS, INTRODUCED MAJOR ADA ADVANCES, AND TRANSFORMED THE FACILITY INTO A YEAR ROUND VENUE THROUGH A CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM. STATE-OF-THE-ART PERFORMANCE AND PRODUCTION UPGRADES PREPARE THE ORGANIZATION FOR ITS NEXT CENTURY OF SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY. TOWN HALL IS COMMITTED TO EXECUTING THESE IMPROVEMENTS SUSTAINABLY, BY TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE LATEST ADVANCES IN BUILDING MATERIALS, TECHNIQUES, AND ENERGY DESIGN. TOWN HALL RE-OPENED TO THE PUBLIC IN APRIL 2019.
