Organizations Filed Purposes: To promote the appreciation and conservation of Washington's native plants and their habitats through study, education, and advocacy.

Native Plant Public Education and Publications: Washington Native Plant Society staff and volunteers provide a broad array of services to the public, its 12 chapters, and 2,000 members statewide, who range from professional experts to enthusiastic novices. Popular programs included the annual Study Weekend, which this year was held in Anacortes; and Botany Washington, which is organized in partnership with the University of Washington Herbarium at the Burke Museum and held this year near Cliffdell. Other services included a popular three-day grass identification workshop, which continues to attract professional botanists and ecologists; chapter native plant sales, chapter programs, and field trips.

Native Plant Stewardship Program: The Native Plant Stewardship programs train volunteers so they have the knowledge and abilities to complete native plant restoration projects in their communities. In 2019, a 100-hour Master Native Plant Steward program was completed with the City of Sammamish, with 20 graduates who committed to projects in Sammamish parks. A 30-hour stewardship training class was offered in conjunction with and partial funding from the City of Bellingham. Twenty-five students participated and committed to volunteer projects in the City parks.

Native Plant Grants Program: The standing committees of the Washington Native Plant Society award grants annually for conservation, education, and research. In 2019 they awarded $10,793 in grants. WNPS chapters contributed additional grants. And for the third year in a row, WNPS was a sponsor of University of Washington's annual Botany Symposium.
