Organizations Filed Purposes:
To create a statewide community that advocates for and celebrates recovery.
During the year 2019, the WRA accomplished many successes in both the public education and public policy change areas. The WRA also helped grow coalitions in 9 regions of Washington in order to bring recovery advocacy and celebration to every corner of the state. Additionally, for the first time, more than 1800 people from the recovery community in the whole state of Washington came together to celebrate Mariner's Recovery Day. A day to watch baseball together while showcasing pride for recovery and instilling hope in others that recovery is possible. This event was created and put on by the WRA and one of its coalitions, the KCRC. Since the WRA recovery community is growing, so are our programs and partnerships. We continue to amplify the voices of those in recovery so their stories drive policy and public understanding. The WRA team, coalitions and Board of Directors worked tirelessly to fulfill our mission during 2019.
