West Seattle Food Bank strengthens the community through the power of neighbors helping neighbors, working to ensure all in our community have access to the essential necessities of living.
To provide food, financial assistance for housing or utilities, and offer free clothing through our clothing bank.
The West Seattle Food Bank (WSFB) is a not-for-profit organization committed to strengthening the community through the power of neighbors helping neighbors. WSFB distributes food, financial assistance, clothes, baby supplies, books and other items to residents of West Seattle. In fiscal year ended June 30, 2020, WSFB provided food and other basic necessities to families in need 75,250 times. We distributed over 2 million pounds of food and $140,000 in clothes, baby supplies and books. Our backpack program provided weekend food to children in need over 13,000 times during the year and our mobile food bank provided groceries to elderly and disabled individuals over 8,000 times during the year.
On February 29, 2020, the West Seattle Food Bank acquired the West Seattle Helpline, which expanded services to include financial assistance for households at risk of being evicted or having utilities shut off, and a free clothing bank open to all in our area.
