Organizations Filed Purposes: WOMEN'S ENTERPRISES INTERNATIONAL, DOING BUSINESS AS PATH FROM POVERTY (PFP), REACHES ACROSS CULTURES TO TRANSFORM LIVES AND COMMUNITIES BY PARTNERING WITH WOMEN'S GROUPS, EMPOWERING AND EQUIPPING WOMEN TOBREAK THE CYCLE OF POVERTY AND LIVE INTO THEIR GOD-GIVEN POTENTIAL.

EQUIPPING WOMEN; EMPOWERING CHANGE; OVERCOMING POVERTY THROUGH GROUP MICRO-SAVINGS.

RURAL WOMEN'S MICRO-SAVINGS AND ACCESS TO CLEAN WATER, KENYA: PFP'S PROGRAM IN KENYA SUPPORTS THE FORMATION OF RURAL WOMEN'S GROUPS AND HELPS LOCAL LEADERS EQUIP MEMBERS THROUGH TRAINING AND SUPPORT SO THEY CAN UNDERTAKE PROJECTS TO TACKLE THE MOST PRESSING NEEDS OF THEIR FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES. IN FY 2020, THESE PROJECTS FOCUSED ON ACCESS TO CLEAN, SAFE WATER AND SUSTAINABLE ENERGY, INCOME GENERATION AND GROUP MICRO-SAVINGS. PFP PROVIDED WATER CATCHMENT TANKS AND SOLAR PANELS, AND THE WOMEN RAISED THEIR OWN FUNDS IN THEIR GROUPS TO ALSO PURCHASE THESE ITEMS LOCALLY ON THEIR OWN. OUR PARTNERSHIP ENSURED THAT ESSENTIAL, LIFESAVING PRODUCTS WERE INSTALLED IN OVER 200 HOMES IN RURAL KENYA.

CROSS-CULTURAL WORK TEAMS:PFP IS COMMITTED TO PROVIDING EDUCATION AND ENGAGEMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR PEOPLE IN THE DEVELOPED WORLD TO EXPAND THEIR KNOWLEDGE OF PARTICIPATIVE DEVELOPMENT PRACTICES THAT REDUCE POVERTY AND PRODUCE LONG-TERM, TRANSFORMATIVE CHANGE IN RURAL COMMUNITIES IN THE DEVELOPING WORLD. IN FY 2020, PFP SENT A TEAM OF US WOMEN TO WORK ALONGSIDE THE MEMBERS OF 8 DIFFERENT WOMEN'S GROUPS IN EASTERN KENYA. TOGETHER WE BUILT THE CONCRETE BASES FOR 15 RAIN-HARVESTING SYSTEMS AND FOSTERED FRIENDSHIP, EDUCATION AND SUPPORT FOR THE WOMEN'S GROUPS, THEIR FAMILIES, AND THEIR COMMUNITIES.

LEADERSHIP SUPPORT: PFP'S COMMITMENT TO EQUIP WOMEN WITH LEADERSHIP SKILLS HAS BEEN A LONG-STANDING PROGRAM. THROUGH SUPPORT OF LOCAL CLASSES AND INTRODUCTIONS TO NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES WITH GROUPS SUCH AS ROTARY INTERNATIONAL, OUR KENYAN LEADERS ARE RECEIVING TRAINING LOCALLY. IN ADDITION, THROUGH SESSIONS CUSTOMIZED TO THE NEEDS AND REQUESTS OF THE KENYAN REGIONAL PROGRAM MANAGERS, PFP STAFF AND SUPPORT PERSONNEL PROVIDE YEARLY TRAINING TO THE RPMS TO ENHANCE THEIR PERSONAL, GROUP AND COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP SKILLS. THE RPMS, IN TURN, SHARE THIS TRAINING WITH THEIR GROUP MEMBERS. NO REVENUE IS DERIVED FROM THIS PROGRAM. THIS YEAR, AS PART OF THE WORK TEAM TRIP, OUR NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR WAS INTRODUCED TO OUR KENYAN WOMEN AND GATHERED INFORMATION THAT WILL BE RELEVANT TO FUTURE TRAINING.
