Organizations Filed Purposes: Y-WE Cultivates the power of diverse young women* to be creative leaders and courageous changemakers. *Those who identify women or girls or were assigned female at birth.

School Year Programs: In 2018-2019, 720+ young women gained knowledge and developed skills as creative leaders and courageous changemakers within an intergenerational community of belonging. Through 10+ programs, young women received over 22,634 service hours and worked with 35+ adult volunteer mentors. We serve young women from marginalized and under-resourced communities: 90% from low-income families, 85% of color, 70% from immigrant backgrounds. To create access, we provide representative leadership, cultural respect, program activities, transportation and healthy meals, all free of charge. School-year programs include: Y-WE Nature Connections, Youth Leadership Council, and Y-WE Lead. Participants reported increased: self-confidence, leadership skills, engagement with the natural world, and commitment to taking action for community change. 95% of Y-WE Lead program-end survey respondents reported increased sense of self confidence and 100% of Y-WE Nature Connections youth reported an increased sense of care and personal connection to the environment.

Summer Programs: Residential arts camps Y-WE Create and Y-WE Write, and our residential Alum Retreat, provided transformative, creative, and healing activities to 90 youth participants who were supported by 33 volunteer adult mentors. Young women worked directly with world-renowned writers, artists, community leaders, and diverse professionals to develop their voices, express their creative visions, gain resources to achieve their future goals, and tell their powerful stories. As a result of these programs, participants reported increased: social-emotional support, confidence in their abilities as creators, clarity about their future goals, and empowerment to take action for social change. 97% of Y-WE Write youth increased the feeling that writing is a source of empowerment in their lives; 100% of Y-WE Alum increased their commitment to taking positive action to make a difference in their communities.

Educational Events: Y-WE's educational events include Career Day, STEM Exploration Day, Health Day, and Youth Leadership Summit. These programs directly served 400+ diverse young women leaders and included hundreds of community members. These events feature: workshops led by diverse and inspiring women professionals; resource fairs highlighting organizations with career and scholarship opportunities for youth attendees; STEM education and skill development; and a holistic approach for young women's mental, emotional, social and physical well-being. Y-WE also offered educational workshops for schools and community groups which are seeking to improve their equity and social justice frameworks through creative community-building. 94% of youth at STEM DAY reported an increased understanding of women's leadership in STEM fields; 95% of youth summit attendees increased their awareness of the power of young women's* leadership.
