Organizations Filed Purposes: THE YMCA IS A CHARITABLE ASSOCIATION DEDICATED TO BUILDING A HEALTHY SPIRIT, MIND, AND BODY THROUGH PROGRAMS AND SERVICES.

HEALTHY LIVING: Our Y provides programs and services to enable people of all ages to develop their full potential in spirit, mind, and body. The Y provides healthy living coaches to help people set and achieve their personal health and well-being goals. The Y offers chronic disease prevention and management programs to help people regain and/or reclaim their health. For example, the Y provides Exercise and Thrive, a program designed to help cancer survivors regain their strength and stamina. The Y also provides support for overweight kids and their families to incorporate healthy choices into their daily lives. Financial assistance is made available so that participation at the Y is accessible for anyone in the community.

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT: At the Y, kids, teens, and young adults of all socio-economic backgrounds discover and pursue their potential academically and socially. The Y offers a wide variety of programs throughout the North Olympic Peninsula, serving remote and rural populations. Youth programs include After the Bell (school-based childcare), Building Futures (mentoring), Day Camp, Summer Meals, and Literacy Programs. The Y also provides youth sports programs including T-Ball, Basketball, Soccer and Flag Football. Y programs enable youth to learn new skills, make new friends, gain confidence, and acquire leadership skills. Financial assistance is mad available for fee-based programs so that a youth's economic circumstances are not a barrier to participation.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY: Since its inception the YMCA has responded to society's most pressing needs by developing innovative community-based solutions and uniting people from all walks of life to participate in and work for positive social change. The Olympic Peninsula YMCA provides financial assistance for membership and programs so that individuals and families in need can benefit from our confidence-building, health enhancing programs like summer camp, child care, and facility membership. The Y provides programs that connect diverse demographic populations, help prevent chronic disease, and build healthier communities through partnerships and collaborations.
