Organizations Filed Purposes:
The mission of Choshen Farm is to impact rural Zambia for Christ through relational encouragement, community development, and strengthening of the local church.
EDUCATION: Expanded the Fimpulu Christian School by adding fifty students in grade 2. The school employs 11 village teachers and 6 security guards. The entire school serves 230 village children.
AGRICULTURE: Teach farming techniques; Employ 16 full-time village farm workers and security guards. In addition, an average of 5 piece workers are employed each week. Trained local farmers in animal husbandry and conservation farming. Also houses the Fimpulu Livestock Reserve where villagers keep 100 goats and 300 pigs. Keeping animals in the reserve helps protect village gardens and good animal management can be practiced. Sale of farm owned animals contributes to program support and feeds Fimpulu Christian School children.
CAMP & CONFERENCE CENTER: Hosted 30 conferences for villagers, church groups and Peace Corp volunteers on a variety of topics- family, marriage, Biblical studies, etc. Approximately 2,000 people total participated. The camp employs 10 cook and event staff and security guards.
