Organizations Filed Purposes: To protect the environment and alleviate poverty by developing curriculum, training teachers, providing instruction and supervising installation of solar energy systems in remote areas worldwide.

Curriculum Development. 1) Developed new 40-hour online curriculum in response to COVID. Put curriculum on a learning mgmt platform and offered course to public and community colleges. 2) Developed a new curriculum for an installation training course for technicians in Sierra Leone who will be installing PV systems on maternity wards. 3) updated a course called Renewable Energy in the Developing World for Solar Energy International 4) new curriculum for solar technicians in Kakuma Refugee camp in Kenya to provide blended online learning with hands on activities. Instruction. Directly taught 559 individuals during 2020. This includes online course (Solar Fundamentals + Storage) offered directly by Remote Energy to students from the Northwest Indian College, Lake Washington Technical Institutes. Also carried out an online class for the professors at the Dakar American University of Science and Technology and 30 of their students. Remote Energy taught courses for We Share Solar's programs to get more solar courses into high schools in the US. Other courses were for the United States Forest Service, Hazel Wolfe Middle school, and hands on installation classes in Costa Rica. Teacher training courses that build the capacity of the instructors at schools and colleges played a big role in our work this year. We spent more than 160 contact hours with 24 teachers or professors to help them implement solar education in their schools. Solar Training Center development: Three hands-on training centers were part of our development work this year. Remote Energy worked with three groups to develop their ability to offer hands-on technical training to their stakeholders. 1)Remote Energy finalized plans for adding storage systems to the solar practice facility run by the College of Engineers and Architects in Costa Rica. 2) Remote Energy also worked with the Rec Cloud Renewable Energy Center on the Pine Ridge reservation to provide the tech support for their hands-on tr
