Organizations Filed Purposes: RESTORING SELF-SUSTAINING SALMON, STEELHEAD, AND BULL TROUT POPULATIONS THROUGH HABITAT PRESERVATION, RESTORATION AND EDUCATION PROJECTS.

3,000 VOLUNTEER HOURS CONTRIBUTED TO SIGNIFICANT PROGRAM ACCOMPLISHMENTS DURING FY 2020. MCFEG IMPLEMENTED EIGHT IN-STREAM AND FLOODPLAIN RESTORATION PROJECTS, AND MANAGED 30 OTHER PROJECTS THAT WERE IN PLANNING OR STEWARDSHIP PHASES. RESTORATIONS INCLUDED ADDITION OF 1,300 PIECES OF LARGE WOOD AND 5,300 NATIVE TREES AND SHRUBS. 80 ACRES WERE PROTECTED FROM INVASIVE WEEDS. FISH PASSAGE WORK INCLUDED THE REMOVAL OF 217 ROCK DAMS BUILT BY RIVERS. MCFEG ALSO EDUCATES OUR COMMUNITIES ABOUT PROTECTION AND RESTORATION OF FISH HABITAT. THE EDUCATION PROGRAM REACHED 1,100 STUDENTS FROM 16 SCHOOL DISTRICTS AND PROVIDED 60 EDUCATIONAL EVENTS AND EXPERIENCES, INCLUDING HOSTING A TEACHER TRAINING PROGRAM WITH 16 TEACHERS PARTICIPATING. MCFEG SUPPORTED REDD SURVEYS, SNORKEL SURVEYS, AND THE COLLECTION OF EDNA SAMPLES. MCF ASSISTED THE FISHERIES CO-MANAGERS WITH THE RESCUE OF OVER 2,000 JUVENILE BULL TROUT THAT WERE IN IMMINENT DANGER OF TERRESTRIAL PREDATION OR DEWATERING.
