Hospice of the Comforter is compassionate people providing compassionate and expert end of life care. Hospice is guided by the highest ethical principles while caring for the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the patients and their families facing an incurable illness.Adventist Health System Sunbelt Healthcare Corporation and all its subsidiary organizations were established by the Seventh-Day Adventist Church to bring a ministry of healing and health to the communities served. Our mission is to extend the healing ministry of Christ.

Hospice provides services in Orange, Seminole, and Osceola counties - we were privileged in 2019 to provide end-of-life compassionate care to 3,172 adults and children living in Orange, Seminole and Osceola County and also at Hospice House on our campus. In 2019, 330 staff members and 235 active volunteers joined together believing in one mission. Our patients and families believe in our work and we are privileged to believe in our mission first. Hospice - "...was wonderful and compassionate. Thank you to all involved, my wife was treated very well." PeggyHospice expanded its services in July 2019 by opening an additional inpatient unit in the Orlando area to provide even more resources and options to the Central Florida community and to maintain its excellent service standard to extend the healing ministry of Christ.
Horizons Bereavement Center - We specialize in offering grief support to caregivers and their families, for 13 months after a death. This commitment is seen at our Horizon's Bereavement center in 2019 providing 1,231 individual counseling sessions (for both adults and children), in addition to 179 group sessions offered at no cost to adults regardless of whether their loved one was served by our organization. Children are the "forgotten grievers and our licensed counselors were able to serve 208 different participants that attended 130 hours of group sessions including, Camp Healing Hearts (twice a year) and support groups in the public school systems for both Orange and Seminole Counties. Bereavement support is not reimbursed and is provided at no cost through the generosity of our community.
