Organizations Filed Purposes: To protect the economic well being of agricultural producers and to improve the quality of life in Seminole County.

Seminole County Farm Bureau participated in Florida Ag in the classroom this year. The book that was highligted was 'Forever There's a Forest!' We coordinated with the Forestry Department and the local elementary school to read the featured book to over 400 students. The Forestry Department discussed what they do on a daily basis while demonstrating some equipment they use. Ice cream was handed out to students who were taught it is a by product of forestry. Our hope is that not only do the students learn about an important commodity to our state but they are enthusiastic enough to teach their parents.

Seminole County Farm Bureau constantly works to build coalitions with other agricultural organizations. Many years of hard work have provided many valuable relationships including Seminole Cattlemen, and the citrus industry. The coalition with IFAS and Seminole Cattleman gave us the opportunity to hold the Spring Ranch Forum This forum provides a place for ranchers and farmers to receive up-to date information about the ranch industry from some of the most knowledgeable scientists and researchers in the business. Farm Bureau is a major contributing sponsor, and uses this time to reach out to potential members and the leadership from other organizations present. This function helps advance our mission.

Seminole County Farm Bureau hosted a virtual youth speech contest. The topic was 'what are three major challenges that you feel Florida agriculture is facing?' This contest allows students to develop research and presentation skills while gaining an appreciation for the industry.
